Pretty cool looking, IMO. Looks much better than the guy that puts the ex rear on the new trucks.
I could not disagree more! Personally I think this thing looks cheap - like parts would fall off driving down the interstate cheap. Tim's work (custom autos by tim) is absolutely top notch and the only way to go (IMO) if you truly want a "new" excursion. I have one on my 10 year plan.
At a glance, I really like the looks of it. The longer I look at the pic the more it looks like on heck of a beak compared to stock. That's a barn door for a front end on an X!
if tim is the guy that does the conversions, its the way the doors line up on his that make them look bad to me. I mean I respect the work he does, but I'm particular about the door lines. This one has the factory lines so they look a lot cleaner.

I'm not really sure what you mean about the doors not lining up well on tims conversions. I think his look much better due to the fact he swaps out the quarters (or at least the wheel arches) to match up with the new fronts. I'm a fan of Tim's work and will spend some of my future Lotto winnings on one of his rigs, I think the longer wheelbase of a six door EX would tow so nice. But it would have to be built on an '05-06 platform, I really can't stand Fords newer stooopid big front grilles. [=] Looks like part of a math equation.
I tried to link to a photo on Tim's website but FTE breaks the link, but check out his website and see if you see all the perfect door lines that I do, not sure what you have seen before. custom autos by tim dot com. (take out the spaces)
Looks pretty good, needz a few tweaks. Debating this or an 08 swap. Its the rear fender line that is shying me away from this style but some bushwackers would fix that.
Too bad it doesnt have a v10 or diesel. Those 24's gotta be heavy!
I dunno I agree some rear bushwhackers have the lines matching.. I'm not really a dub kinda guy but on that truck I think the 24's look pretty good. I bet with the front end swap, the rims, the HID's and the nice pearly white paint you would turn a few heads. Be fun to turn into a show truck.
I love the '08-'10 look but the '11-'12 look doesn't do it for me
The '08 just looked so tuff, and the fender grille/badge was bad ***.
The new ones have the whimply little badge and the rounded out everything in a way that makes it kinda look like the new 'yotas. I really hope when ford does their next update the make the lines a little harder and tougher again. '08 style FTW.
FWIW it took me a long time to get used to liking the look of the Super-Duty in the first place. I was really stuck on the OBS trucks for a long time. I guess it is a good thing that I get used to the looks of these things 10 years after they come out, sure saves me a ton of dough over trying to buy new. I'm not big on financing, I own it or leave it.
It has taken me a couple years too, but I can honestly say that I am liking the new 11-12 style better now over the 08-10 style.
But then again, I went from an 06 to an 05 so, I guess I still like those too!
And living in OK and having seen an example of Tim's work in person, I can honestly say it is top notch and looks better than some examples of factory work I have seen. Everything lines up exactly as it should. I am not sure what pictures some of you all are looking at that don't think his line up, but they do.
