Transfer Case puzzles

Hey guys,
So first time really posting on here, have been a member for a while but got caught up over at the Nation. Anyways, somebody recommended I post this up over here, hopefully somebody can help me out. Here it goes,

im putting a ZF6 from a 7.3 superduty in my OBS. Currently have an E4OD, and would rather upgrade to a stick (and thus a used zf6) than upgrade the E4OD when it finally screams its last complaints, plus ts cheaper. That said, the SD came with either the NP 271 or NP 273, manual and electronic engage respectively. My 96 has a manual engagement BW 4407 t-case. In the event I stumble on a ZF6 with no T-case, or a electronic one, Im wondering if I could merry my BW 4407 to the ZF6? I know the NP 271/273 got used with the 4R100, with is almost the same tranny as the E4OD, so I have a suspicion the bolt patterns on the BW4407 and the NP 271/273 is the same? What I dont know is if the ZF6 got a slightly different t-case than the 4r100 or virtually identical? And I dont know too much about input shafts either. Anyways, hopefully one of you has some good insight into this, I would like to be able to know I can search for a zf6 without being severly restricted to the ones that have a manual shift t-case with them.
In review, I am swapping in a ZF6 permanently. However, a majority of the Zf6's i have come across have been with electronic t-cases, which i want no part of. Also, There is one ZF6 I came across which was a 4x4 tranny to begin with, but just didnt have the t-case with it anymore. So I am trying to determine if my BW4407 will bolt up in the event I cant lock down a zf6 & manual engage t-case unit...?
Thanks guys!
Regards
Krause

Krause, I believe the input shaft for the T-case will have to be swapped, and the gearing inside the NP271 is different than what is in the BW4407 case but other than that it should work. I've been researching this myself a bit, only I'd be converting from a ZF-5 to a ZF-6.

Cool, i was beginning to think no one had considered going down this road yet. So Im not very savvy with input shafts, would you need the input shaft from the original tranny, or original t-case?
