I noticed after the last fuel filter / oil change it was taking alot longer to fire up when engine was cold. Didn't matter if ambient temp was 110 or 0. When starting after a short drive it would fire up immediately, basically the longer it sat, the longer the crank would be. Took it to the dealer for some minor warranty repairs and asked them to check the long crank, even though it was still within specs, they found seals leaking in the HPOP and replaced under warranty.
Just wanted to post for future ref.
BTW........if you have the BrightBox installed, don't set it to run hi and lo beams at the same time. I melted the reflector assemblies in -20 weather running hi/lo for extended periods. Harley Davidson assy.'s are expensive!
The 5/100,000 will be @ 5 yrs in January 2012. There's different levels....
3/36,000 bumper to bumper
5/60,000 Safety/ Restraint system
5/100,000 Powertrain
They all cover different items.
Thanks bismic, me too. Also replaced the CAC tube as the air filter rubbed a hole in it from sitting on top of it. I have to take a closer look to see what I need to do to stop that. All in all.....$1200 worth of repairs covered under warranty. Although I am a little pissed they didn't fix the grab handle above the passenger head, screw came loose and the same dealer "fixed" it under the 3/36 warranty but it came loose again and they won't cover it because it has been over 12 mos. since the original warranty work.
Replaced front left axle seal, got tore up during my last elk hunt. Funny, the front right seal did the same thing about a year ago.
I'll take some pics of the headlamp assy. being melted. I was surprised being that it was soo cold when I was running them, but running them for extended time did heat up the plastic and bubbled the reflector and the "bulb shield" fell off the right side. I will put it back in and set up to run fogs with the hi beam but not all 3 at the same time.
First pic you can see the black "lamp shield" laying in the lower right corner
Second pic is where the reflector melted and the "lamp shield" should be.
