I had the same problem with the Pumpkin's tranny., it would randomly pop out of park. On investigation, the cause in this case was wear in the external linkage, more exactly, the tranny shift arm and the small stud that connects the arm to the shift rod that goes up to the column.
In the picture, the hole in the shift arm that the stud goes in is wallowed out and the stud itself is pretty worn
HOLY CRAP!!! going to look at that when i get off work ,and yes even in kansas we have little baby hills,..well just the one from the street to my house
