FWIW - my 2 cents, i also believe that the type of gas you use is also very important. to keep a long story short. took our 03 Impala on vacation two years ago, started in montana went south through nevada ,west to California, 3500 miles, kept very close track of where we bought gas and what company. here are my results. Exxon - 22-24 mpg. mobile, conaco. 24-26. there were others but they were all in the 24-26 range, except for Sinclair. 28- 34 mpg. needless to say all my gas is Sinclair and it is consistant 28 -- 32 mpg. Dutch
ive had the same experience with gas. i dont know my exact numbers but ive found that i get the best performance from shell. we dont have a Sinclair around here, atleast not that i know of

That is not a result of the gas, but of the pink air you have been able to get there since 1966!!! (or was that Fina?)
Well over the summer installed new exhaust, new front tires and got the carb tuned up. Im now gettin about 14 mpg at the same speeds. Im going to keep keeping track of my fuel economy and see if i can up it any more

Dave have you done anything with the an adjustable vacuum advance POT on your dizzy? You can squeeze out a few more mpg with that upgrade, and get better throttle response! Mine cost about $15...

The you need to re-curve the Dizzy! It is pretty easy to do! I read an article on it, and duplicated what they did, and it made a big difference.
