Curt Q20 ground question

We installed a Q20 to a cab & chassis, straight to the frame with brackets that Curt supplied. We are having some issues with grounding. Lights coming and going and really work good as hooking up.

My question is anyone else had that problem and what did you do to fix? Did you add a ground strap to fifth wheel?

Thanks in advance.

Doesn't the power plug provide the ground?

Check the ground connection on the trailer. Make sure that it is attached to bare metal not painted or rusty.

Your choice of hitch should have nothing to do with the ground. You need a ground via the wiring, not through the hitch. Check out the plugs and wiring carefully and find the corroded/loose ground.

If all the lights do it, running and brake, then it is likely a ground issue.
