Anyone else have a nightmare of a time getting the 78/9 F-250 box to work properly on the 1/2 ton trucks? I had to plate the inside of the frame, bolt the box on, and the pitman arm was nowhere near right....I got it pretty good now, but I ended up cutting the pitman arm, and adding like 1 1/2" to it.....It's been like 3 years now and it hasn't broken but it still makes me nervous. I know welding cast iron doesn't really work that well. I remember something about the crossmember being in the way one way or another??
Either way, I'm doing a D60 into a 92 F-150 with a 460 over the next couple weeks. I am using 70's radius arms, doing it coil sprung. I think this will be the Bees Knees! It seems like it will be far easier, and come out much better. I will let you know how it goes!
