oh.. um.. hello
My name is Jason Craig, I'm a 24 year old resident of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
I'm attending university, where I'm working towards a bachelor of arts, majoring in history, minor in english. This is before i commence study towards a bachelor of education.
I also work as a Carpenter, and will continue to do so, as I alternate between that and teaching, wherever I might travel.
My first introduction to Ford trucks, was as a young brat in the passenger seat of my grandfather's 78 F100. He passed on in 86, but his memory is still alive, and I've always loved those trucks. Perhaps an ode to the 'old man'.
I have had 4 trucks before my current project, all of them rusty F100's. 1 '77, 2'78's, and a '79. the last truck I had took me across Canada and back, before an oversight on my part tanked the engine, and I had to give it up.
That was in 2000, and it was only in December that I bought my current beast. It is a 1976 F250 4x4, which the previous owner swapped a 400 in. It's equipped with a NP435 4 speed, and is a real beast. I know the previous owner fairly well, and he had the truck for over 20 years. He used it as a personal wrecker, and the box was stored for years, and is therefore in great shape.
Right now this monster has 12 leaf springs on each side in the rear, with 4 inch spacers lifting the truck of it's Dana 60. There a 7 leafs up front on each side of the Dana 44, which I have yet to determine whether or not is the "heavy" or "light" 44. I suspect the former.
At any rate, I have big plans for this truck, which is my first 4x4.
I am amazed at the number of participants on the forums, and at the level of knowledge they possess.. I thought I knew a lot about these trucks until I came here!!!
Thanks for having me!
