Hi to all, love the pictures of the old trucks. I've owned Ford trucks all my life and will die driving one. I'm 62 and I just bought my last truck. It's 1962 F250 4x4 and it's a beaut! I'll post pictures as soon as I can get the right size to upload. I'll hand it down to one of my relatives that prove to be worthy of it and will keep it going. They built this truck when I was 16 years old, too cool!
Welcome old timer from another 62 year old timer! I`ll die driving a Ford truck too, nothing else tickles my fancy.
I~m sure that by now you`ve found the 1961 - 1966 F-100 And Larger F-Series Trucks forum: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum40/
Be sure to pop into your local CA chapter and post your intro there too, see how many others have a similar old Ford truck as well: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum163/
Hey Fomoko1, Wonder if we'll get tickets for being dead at the wheel, ha, ha. No, I haven't seen the forum as of yet but will later. You are way up the hill. I have nephews living in the state of Washington. I think where your'e at is the west coast of Canada. You sure have a selection of vehicles. I bought this 62 for a work truck and will use it as such, however, I want to keep it in good shape and want to keep the old truck theme. I do wrought iron work so I want to come up with a unique rack that would have been built back when the truck was made. I'm researching photos of old Ford trucks trying to get a glimpse of what a rack looked like back then. I'm working on the brakes now and will have it on the road next week, I hope. It sat for a number of years so I'm having to resurrect it slowly but surely. So glad to meet ya, we'll be talking later, Tim
Hi Tim, I`m about a 1,000 miles west of the west coast though I`m still in Western Canada.
Hope you get that old Ford back on the road soon, may you have plenty of good luck with it!
See you in the forums.
I'm just finishing up the brakes this morning. I'm anxious to start driving it. One thing I would like for it is a sunshade that goes above the windshield. They must be really rare as I can't find one other than after market and their not what I want. This is dumb but I'll ask anyway, how do I post in the forums? Can't seem to get the hang of it, thanks.
Hi Tim, to post a new thread look for the ''new thread'' button at the top of the main forum page. It is similar to the ''reply' button in posted threads like this one.
Visit in your local chapter, plenty of folks to help are in there too.
Good luck and if you have any problems just holler, we`re here to help!
Thanks for the info. A new situation has cropped up with my truck. I discovered, after installing the new locking hubs, that the front ring and pinion are out on it. I didn't get to drive it much when I bought it let alone test the 4x4 on it. I haven't researched what it'll take to repair it. I may end up selling it as I had every intension of making a work truck out of it but it's too pristene to bang it up working it. So I'll let every one know if I do decide to sell it.
Check with the folks in the 1961 - 1966 F-100 forum https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum40/ , they`ll give you a good idea of what`s involved.
See you in the forums Tim.
