I've just got to ask. Every time someone throws up a trans thread, it's all "get a BTS". It's been quite awhile, but last time i talked with Brian he was 6 months out. Needless to say had no choice but to go with a local build. I'm sure things have changed, but at that point it was buy a BTS before your trans goes out or get in line and wait for your build. Just curious, no bashing whatsoever. Sorry for the hijack.

Brian was about a month behind when I got my build, but it was worth the wait.
Once I got into pulling it apart, it didnt seem to bad of a job.
Since this is my frist rodeo at rebuilding a trans it will be a slow process.
Would be interested in knowing who makes the clutches for that kit. Roland had issues with the first kit that he used. Not a bad price since it comes with the TC and cooler.
No real clue on the cause, but no mechanical diode. The OD clutchs were worn down to bare metal. I never felt it sliping though. Everything else looked in pretty good shape, oh the rear carrier had some small stress cracks so it will be replaced also.

unless you have one you won't understand I guess. its the difference between a stock engine and a modded one. he may be months out on a build at his place but I last I checked it was about a one week wait to have one shipped to you.....

No no, I'm just not good at wording myself. I have no doubt of the brute strength of the BTS Trans. I guess I was just curious as to what the wait was. A week shipped to you is great, 6 months not so much. I would love to have a BTS in the truck, but we waited until the stocker went out before looking into getting another and that kind of down time wasn't gonna cut it. So if you can get one that quick that's great, otherwise I would suggest to get the big bad BTS tranny BEFORE yours goes out.
