The front right hub pulled from the spindle on my 94 4wd Exploder. Looks like ther snap ring "walked out" a little grrr
I think I caught it as soon as it happen.
I can't see any bearing, washer or other damage ...no rotary noises etc. (crossed fingers).
I think it will all go back together but ......I haven't touched it for a long time ......if it was put together correctly then ....and it pulled off......I suspect it might be a bigger problem.
I did find a post of using only a thin film of grease on the snap ring.
Any suggestions of what could cause this or what to check before it goes back togehter...as is?
Maybe a U joint problem applying pressure against spindle?
There must be some rule about answering your own question.
For others who might have the same problem:
I dug deeper into the site and a well placed large screwdriver pryed in the left support arm against the u joint pushed the spindle out. GRRRRRR Embarassing ..but now I know.
PS the snap ring looked tired from too many brake jobs...off for new ones
