The only thing locks do is keep honest people honest. If they want your gas, they'll get it.
Unless it's happening a few times to you already, I wouldn't worry about it. I'd rather fill up in the morning than replace a gas tank or two that some crackhead punched a hole in.

Try taking a night out in the bed of the truck....With a nice 12g boom stick an 3" Slugs......I GARUAN-TEE they won't wanna "Borrow" your gas anymore...
I have some nice locking gas caps that are made in Germany on Ebay. I don't see them listed right now. I was able to get them with a matching key, just by asking the seller. They are much nicer that the cheesy ones at the parts stores. My reason for them, is more to keep people from vandalizing than sealing fuel.
