i am betting the electronic flashers you tried are not the correct ones for LED bulbs. i found it very difficult to just walk into kragen or autozone (the chain stores) and purchase the correct flasher. even though they stocked electronic flashers, further investigation at the manufacturers website indicated they were not good for LED bulbs. maybe try a NAPA and get the counterman to get out his catalog. also, another solution is to use a 5 or 10 watt resistor just before each bulb. that fools the old style flashers into driving LED bulbs. pep boys i think has them

I have leds in the back of my 01 e350 superduty cutaway van too. I was always wondering why they flash super fast. thought maybe it was so folks can see them better. Maybe i will check into that flasher thing too. I'll go right to ford first, see what they have or say about it

LEDs pull less amperage than regular bulbs, so your flasher thinks the LEDs are actually a blown bulb, which is why its flashing fast. You can splice into the tail lights wiring and add resistors, or you can just buy a special flasher thats made to power LEDs. It just plugs in like a regular flasher.

Look here. You probably need EP27L. Look at the diagrams to make sure your stock flasher looks the same. Super Bright LEDs - Electronic LED Flashers Specifications
