Well the turbo came out of a truck from the company I work for....
Its on a f-450 rack body....the truck has 50K on it a guy comes back and says the truck has no power...I figure Ill check out the turbo....
Took it out pulled it apart and the exhaust side fins were all chewed up....
So I would have to take that part out of my turbo and sawp it into the 04 turbo..Also the vaines were chewed up pretty badly...I will post some pics of it up
Tyler just buy a reconditioning kit and rebuild it . I don't think its to much harder than cleaning just a few more steps. I think Bismic has detailed instructions for it.
Benchwrench did an awesome write-up on the turbo rebuild - it is in the tech folder. Gpopshop.com is where you get the rebuild kit for $125 plus shipping. I have been very happy with my powermax. I spoke to a number of turbo shops about rebuilding vs powermax - they were all very impressed with the build of the powermax and felt it was a top to bottom better turbo. If you do the work yourself, the rebuild is certainly inexpensive. BTW I have an 06 turbo and rebuild kit sitting in my garage (awaiting a lazy Saturday or someone in need). Good luck
