Ive got to find an adapter for my oil filter. The only thing is the 2 styles i found look like they may hit the gearbox. One style comes strait out (which will not work) the other style elbows 90* down. m not sure if that one will work it will be a tight fit if it does. Does anyone know anything about these? or which one would be the best fit? The truck is an 86 F150 2wd. adn the engine is a 460 from a 90 E350. Its got a huge threaded hole for the the oil filter housing portion. I Went ahead and had ford order the strait fit one it was only like 5 bucks and i figure if i can not find anything else maybe a machine shop can do something with it. If anyone knows the correct part though let me know please.
Thanks man ive contacted this person to arrange to buy it =P. Now im having issues cause the holes for the motor mounts are too far foward and doesnt really give me any room for ANYTHING in the front of the motor lol. Wow everything was pretty mmuch clear sailing till today. Stripped Crankshaft bolt, the oil filter thing, now no space lol. Hope it starts going better soon =P.
Just read on another forum that i need to get V8 Crossmember perches to install slightly behind the crossmember since the truck had an inline 6. How do i need to attach these perches? Bolt on or Weld on and the guide i saw there was no suport between the 2 do i need to add a chunk of metal to better support it?
Since you are converting to a 460 that adaptor will not work. You need to install a remote filter or swap to a 460 crossmember.
Check and see if anyone makes conversion mounts to go from a 300 six to a 460... Might find a bolt in swap mount if you're lucky. They make them for small block to 460 but not sure on 300 to 460.

The engine sit in a differnt spot when converting?
I converted my 80 F350 to a 429 and while i have a remote oil filter(for other reasons) that adapter worked in my truck
I believe the "460" and "diesel" trucks have a indent in the crossmember for oil filter clearance. I believe the remote oil filter trick is what I would do myself.
I will need to look at mine when I get home, I don't remember an indent, just the adapter that points forward and down, the adapter bolt is visible through the crossmember opening. For frame mounts, Ford bolted them on, you just need to find a donor F250-350 that had a 460 in it and get them for yours.
I bought a transdapt motor swap kit when i was originally going to put it in a 77 f250. The swap kit covers my year model in the V8 Version. I just having loads of trouble Finding the V8 Chassis Perches. Ford says theyll be able to get them to me should take a week and will cost about 300 bucks. (just too much for something i can prolly find in a junkyard or something for 10-30 bucks. So now to continue searching =P
