Nice job, very professional looking! I'm looking forward to that build thread..
I wonder, could you still use the PTO port on the transfer-case? I was thinking it's rotation would be reversed, but I don't know enough about PTO systems to know if it would make it unusable or not.
Sam
I guess you could but not sure why you would need to. There is a PTO port on my tranny.
You would have to be moving to use the Xcase PTO, since it's backwards I'm driving the output shaft meaning if the Tcase was in N I would not be driving the PTO gear.
Also not sure what I'd use it for, my winch is electric and my compressor is belt driven off the motor.
From what I've heard having the PTO on the transfer case allows you to shift gears on the main transmission and drive the PTO at different speeds, useful for a hydraulic winch and a few others I'm sure.
It was just one of those questions that pops into my head, no practical use for it, just gathering info on the subject!

yea that's true and it'd work perfect with a normal rig but with this setup the only way for the PTO to be spinning is for the wheels to also be spinning.
Ah, the PTO runs off the input shaft of the transfer case right? Since the transfer case is in there backward, input would be the output. It makes sense now.
