Door question

Hi Mickey!
Welcome to the forum, and congratulation on your 'new' truck. There is no place that I know of that sells complete door bottoms. You may be able to find a piece for the outer skin, but for the bottom of the shell, not so much. You'll have to make your own. The doors will interchange from 1948-52, so you may be better off looking for better ones, depending on where you live, or how bad your rust problem is.

There are door kits for 53 to 56, including skins and bottom buckets but I haven't seen them for 49 to 52.

It's a huge catalogue so give it time to load.

I am not very experienced at metal work, but what i did on my 50 was to cut away the rusted outer sheet metal and after cleaning and treating the areas i could not reach with rust converter welded in a 2"By ? piece of new metal im not sure of the gauge, if you like you could see a couple of pictures in my album by clicking on my name. remember like i said i am not expeirenced'' Hopefully somone with more knowlage will chime in. Good luck and welcome to FTE (JIMMY)

That's a good thought. Surely it would be easier to use one of those than totally start from scratch with a straight piece of metal. I'll be interested in hearing how well that could possibly work and how much modification is needed.

An FTE member by the user name of "reamer" was making lower bottom sections for 48-52 doors, but we haven't heard from him in a long time.
Any 48-52 F1-F8 and Panel truck doors will fit your truck. Stay away from COE doors. They're different.
I have a set of doors that were robbed for majority of the parts. However, one door is rusted through at bottom corner. Probably not helpful to you. The other door is still decent, but also has its rust issues.
