A Doctor once told me it weakens the joints and that it increases the chance of arthritis. Thats all i know.

a long time question ive had......

One day when I cracked my neck a pain shot down my neck. I had to have physical therapy because of the bone spur that was created from popping my neck so much. Needless to say, I no longer pop it.... draw you own conclusions. :-)

I was taught in college that it can cause arthritis/other joint problems as you age. If this is true or not, I have no idea. That nursing professor was at least 85 years old and half senile.

Crack away! You're simply popping nitrogen bubbles that are in the joints. Also, my chiropractor told me that the cracking/popping sound I hear when he adjusts my spine is the sound of those same nitrogen bubbles in my vertebrate.
