x2 on the extra cooling when towing! I put a large cheapo Autozone cooler on after I overheated it in Idaho. That was fine for a year but on a slow steep (14%!) road near Lake Isabella I saw 230 on the gauge. So I finally bit the bullet and put on a 26 row 6.0 cooler from Partsguyed. Temps are slightly cooler across the board, tho I have yet to tow on a really steep slow road yet.

I dont tow too heavy, but I've got my eyes open for a 26 or even better the 31 row 6.0 cooler. I'd like to get one off of a parts truck or ebay.

26 or 31 row cool about the same per Mark K, who knows these things. If buying used clean it very well inside. Might have come off a rig with a bad tranny and then...

I'll talk to Parts guy Ed and see what he thinks. I'm sure 26 core would be fine.
