I’ve heard stories from people about having problems after they had their transmission flushed. I was wondering if someone could give me some input. Should you just dump the pan fluid and torque converter fluid or should you have someone flush it? I have a 2001 F350 and it looks like I have a 4R100 transmission. The truck has 120K on it.
If you never have had the trans flushed before pull the pan and change the fillter, the crud that's in there now might cause you problems after it gets stirred up with the flush, I wouldn't do it.
I would go ahead and drop the pan, drain the TC, and install a new filter. I have the same year truck and thats what I did when I installed the BTS-VB.
Some will tell you to go ahead and flush the trans and cooler. Thats good too.
Do you have any idea about how much fluid I’ll need to get to replace the amount I’ll lose...are you including the torque converter? I’ve never done this so I need a little guidance. From what I can see there’s a plug you remove for the torque converter and I guess I’ll need the gasket and filter for the transmission pan...any suggestions on the best place to get this stuff.
