Carburetor I.D. ???
It's off a 1962 223 and NAPA says the only carb that year on that engine was the Holley 1940 so that's the kit they gave me.
The carb has a metal tag with a Ford script logo on it and then these numbers;
C3TF A A 2HA
Is that a Holley 1940?
Return the kit, it's in-correct.

NAPA is correct, but the problem is, the carb you have is from a 1963 or 1964.

Nope.
This Auto-Lite carb was used 1963/64 w/the 223 I-6. A 1962 223 carb would have a C2TF prefix and would be a Holley.
C8OZ-9A586-D (replaced C3AZ-9A586-F) .. 1V Auto-Lite/Motorcraft Carburetor Kit (Motorcraft CT-207A).
Used with 1963/69 170/200/223 I-6 carbs in Passenger Cars, 1963/64 223 trucks, 1966/69 170 Bronco's and 1963/69 170 Econolines.
Ask NAPA for a 1965/66 Mustang 200 I-6 carb kit, it's same-o same-o as the C3TF-A carb uses.

Thanks for the info ND, opening the wrong kit is what I wanted to avoid and now I can. I read the instructions and looked at the exploded view and noticed it was really close but a couple of things were a little off.
EDIT: NAPA shows three kits for a '65 Mustang with a 200 6cyl and I didn't recognize the right carb number in there, do you know which of these three is correct?

Oreilly's also lists three carb kits, one for a Ford Model 1100 and two for Holley's, a 1904 and a 1940 like I bought originally. So is my carb a Ford 1100?

There is only one carb kit for a 1965 Mustang 200 I-6, but Ford made multiple part number changes inre to carb kits for these carbs (I only listed one, but there are actually 8).
The kit (C8OZ-9A586-D) now reflects 1968, but was used prior to and after 1968.
See if the NAPA partsguy can cross reference the Motorcraft part number (CT-207A) over to the brands they sell.
If not, same kit: 1963/69 Falcon 170/200 / 1965/69 Mustang 170/ 200 / 1963/68 Fairlane 170/200 / 1966/69 Bronco 170/200, and a gazillion others.
Add 1965/68 240 I-6 & 1969 250 I-6. I suggested Mustang, figured it would be easier asking for a kit for something more common that a 1963 truck.
The problem is, the kit is obsolete from Ford, so now you're at the mercy of the unknowing autoparts store peeps.
I found some NOS carb kits, but the closest source to WY is in WA
