My 82' is an XLT Lariat has the long trim and the tailgate insert, no bug guard or running boards, chrome regular front bumper, solid rear window, radio, cruise control (non working), ac (non working), and manual windows and locks.

Hi, I think you & I have probably got the same interior color ('Teal', a dark green).........& it is uncommon.

I've noticed there is one other owner on this site that has the same interior, & also exterior (Dark Spruce Metallic) as mine.

Rockauto lists dark green as a color option for the door liners they sell, but I don't know how good match to Teal it is.
I'm expecting to have to respray the interior plastic parts to get a good result.

Our '85 is a XLT Lariat and seemed pretty loaded for what it was back in the day. Fuel injected 302, Automatic, PS, PB, PW, PDL, Cruise, Tilt, AC, AM/FM Cassette, Tailgate trim (which we need to find a replacement for) and upgraded interior. Seems pretty basic compared to trucks these days.

Ok....I think I've seen your interior once before, but I haven't ever seen that exterior color scheme. Is your tractor a Ford or a Ferguson?

Is that a Perkins engine?

Dunno if I'm brave enough to compare my wife to a tractor

Yes a 3 cylinder Perkins best diesel engine ever made. That was actually meant as a compliment about my wife we've actually know each other since she was 13 and I was 16.

My 85 is a base model w no badging at all... even the plate above the radio is blank. No a/c, 4 sp, i6. What's odd is the ghosts of some pretty immersive pinstriping... I mean, it's ALL over. It appears to have been well done, maybe a dealer add-on, but why tart-up such a basic truck when there had to be higher margin trucks on the lot (when new).

My son's truck is an 85 F250 Lariat and has a factory tach and the fancy seat upholstery, but also manual windows/locks. I can't remember if he's got carpet or not. It's a nice setup and I've got first right of refusal if he ever decides to sell it... that sounds way more "adult" than calling dibs. It has a 302 in it, but we have reason to believe it was originally a straight-6 truck

I always found Ford's various trim levels and option packages a little bit confusing until l realized that none of it concerned me enough to straighten it out in my head. I dig em all and, to me, finding an optioned-up truck is like finding an onion ring in with your french fries...an unexpected bonus.

My 81 F100 flare side is a custom with badges on the fenders & above the radio.
300 six and granny 4sp, no AC from the factory, I added factory AC, roll up windows.
Manual brakes, P/S.
I dont think it came with a radio based on what I found when I got the truck. speaker in the doors looked added and no tubing between body & doors for the wire, no dash speaker and did not look like it ever had the radio mounting plate either.

My parts truck was a 81 F100 style side Ranger, 300 six 3sp OD (SROD), AC, power brakes & P/S, think it had Ranger over the radio.
I am guessing from the factory it had a radio, radio and HVAC control were pulled out, doors sold also but it did have the factory speaker wires across the top of the dash for door speakers and I used it in my truck.
I did not see any wiring for power windows or locks, full harness also went into my truck because of the AC (did not have to as it is a add on harness I found out, and dual tanks (part of the main harness).

Both trucks have / had two tone paint from the factory.
I can see a dealer adding pin striping to a base model as it dose not cost much to do and it could be just what it takes to catch the eye of someone to buy it. On cars door ding moldings down the sides was another big thing back in the day.
My first new truck I did not buy the two tone paint, they wanted too much for it and I was going to add it myself.
Well after a week dad & I added pin stripe down each side and that is how it stayed for 16 years when I sold it.
