Bed swap
I need to replace my bed because it is rusted to hell. What years should I look for at the u-pull lot? Is it only 80-86 that is interchangeable or are there other years that I could look for?

Beds up to 1996 f150's and 1998 f250/350's will bolt on. 1980 thru 1986 will be exact as far as body lines and wheel openings. 1987-1998 will have the same body lines, but the wheel openings will be round instead of the flat area found in the 86 down wheel openings.
And a general rule from 1980 all the way up is to try and get the tailgate with the bed. They changed the tailgate hardware through the years, the earliest had metal straps, then they went to cables, and they changed the bolt sizes, the latches, etc. You can convert the tailgates over, but it requires some work.
P.S. Some of the later trucks had two less bolts holding the bed on. Don't worry about it.
