Great place to pheasant and duck/goose hunt. Not much of a deer hunter, ever since I left Wyoming. I need to get out to the range, when I finally get back to normal hours.
I'm not really a hunter, I do have everything to hunt with, just can't bring myself to get up at 4:00 in the morning, hoping to see something. I have 4 acres, and 11 deer that live between me and the neighbor, they frequent my back yard...from my back porch to where they tend to hang out is right at 125yrd...I prefer to watch them right now...
On the other side of that coin, I do really enjoy going out and target shooting! I have a moderate collection of handguns, and long guns. The wife is actually getting more interested in skeet shooting, so I just picked her up a 20ga of her own to shoot with...
I enjoy skeet. I know what you mean about that 4am thing! About the only thing I hunt now is pheasant, and we usually don't go out until around 7, not into that 4 am thing either! I've had the wife shoot my Berretta, she enjoys that, but she wants nothing to do with the shotgun. I'll keep working on that.
I invite my wife every time me and my brother-in-law go shooting, her response was usually no, but she is starting to come around. I actually have had 2 families in our Church as me to take them out shooting, and teach them how to properly shoot, etc. My wife was ALL about it...she was more excited than me to go out with them. My wife is actually a great shot, especially with my Springfield 1911's, Beretta 45LC, and my .357 Cowboy Action...sorda scary how good of a shot she actually is...and of course she falls in love with the higher end Pistols and calibers...
It's nice that you two have something to do together, that's why I'm trying to get the wife interested. Tried golf, she just couldn't get into it. And, she has no interest in helping me rebuild my 67!LOL
i'm going to put off getting another hand gun. and yes caleb i'm in omaha. my wife and the truck are in oregon still. i have a 89 new yorker i have to work on today. my moms old car.
