Steve - I'm thinking about trying cowboy action shooting at some point. Got too much going on right now with kids, etc, but hopefully when they get a little older I'll have some time for that. Used to shoot quite a bit as a kid/teen, but got away from it when I left home. My dad gave me Ruger Blackhawk revolver last year, so I joined a local gun club and am learning again. It's fun, however I got a ways to go! Don't get nearly enough time in at the range.
I usually go to a buddy of mine...he has 40+ acres with a shooting range...pistol and rifle...but I'm all about doing some shooting...either Cowboy action, semi auto, rifle, shotgun, anything that goes BANG!

Since Blue and Gray is in Guntersville I'll probably pass on getting a membership. The one near Hytop is the only one I haven't heard of what's the info on that range?
Rob, it is fun shooting CAS if you get in with some people who are there to enjoy the day and friends. All you need is a rifle and a double barrel and another Blackhawk. Then you can shoot modern. But mightwant to go a couple times to watch and see what it is all about before you invest in everything. What caliber are you going to shoot?
