Yea I wish I knew someone like that, but that's why I learn to do it all myself. For the knowledge, the pride, and to be the guy who people need. But I'm glad you had someone to help you. Should be fun though, I'm sure frustration will ensue at some point, but for the most part it should be fun.
thats one of the reasons why people love these trucks so much..the ease of maintenence and the fact that your able to look at it and say yeah..i rebuilt that..causethis truck comparend to a GM is soooooooo much easier to work on.
Ok so help me out a little if you will. Can you explain your set up, I see in your signature. How do you like it? Things ride good? Do you tow alot? I'm googling now.
well the rear air bags are between the leafs and the top catch plate thats attached to the frame. theres 2 tubes (one for each side) running on the inner side of the frame to the lip on my bumper where the license plate is and the air nozzle is on the left and right side of it. same nozzle that is on the tires.
the front air bags are placed inside of the springs and isntead of a short and fat bag, theyre taller and more slim to fit inside the springs. the air nozzle comes out on the inside finder walls. i didnt have enough money to get the air compressor or anything so i carry around a foot pedal tire pump!!
as far as the ride goes, if the rear bags have about 8psi and the front have bout 6psi, they ride about the same as a stock suspension setup would be. however, when i have the 400 pound toolbox/camper top on, i run about 12-16psi to keep the ride hight about even with the front.
im pretty satisfied with it actually...ive seen people say they dont like them because they ride like crap but they usually have like 20psi in em which is rediculous!!! and towing wise, i pull a 21ft pontoon boat me and my friends got after putting our money together, and i usually have a 30ft heavy duty towing chain, some steel 15 degree ramps for when im stuck in mud, all my camping gear, and a variety of tools in the camper top.
overall, i think that if you know how to use the suspension and actually have a use for it, then its 100% definately worth getting!!!! i love them haha
