Yokohama-Goodrich-Kumho-Cooper???????
I'm looking at the Yokohama Geolander A/T-S, Kuhmo Road Venture AT KL78,
Goodrich Commercial T/A Traction and the Cooper Discoverer ATR.
I need a tire for some off roading and minimal snow but don't want a noisy tread. Also something with good rolling resistance so my mileage doesn't suffer.
Appreciate any input.

I just installed the Hankook ATM RF10 after reading all the postive reviews on heavier trucks. So far only about 200 miles on them so i cant comment on the wear just yet but they have a stonger sidewall than my Mastercraft AT tires which had 50% tread left at time of replacement, plus they handle on the wet pavement so much better.
but all the tires you listed from what i seen have decent to great reviews so i doubt you can go wrong with the tread you decide on.

I just bought a set of Yokohama Geolanders for my 06 Landcruiser. Most of the reviews were very positive. I have had them for only a week, but so far I like them. They ride nicely and they are quiet. One main reason that sealed the deal was that last week, Tire Kingdom had them for a buy two, get two free. That was just too good a deal to pass up. You may want to check with Tire Kingdom and see if this special still applies. Tires at half price, with a good solid rating, are hard to beat.
I also just bought a set of Nitto Terra Grapplers for my Ford F 350. Like them also, but the price was double that of the Geolanders.
Time will tell as to how they hold up.

I have the Geolandars on my truck which I use to plow snow commercially. Great tire, low road noise, and excellent traction. I don't know on what kind of terrain you will be on off-road, but I would be hard pressed to believe that they wouldn't do well off road. 75% of the time when plowing, I don't even use 4wd unless I have to pull snow out of a truck dock that is lowered down. That was last year with a 3.73 open axle. This year, I have a Detroit Truetrac as well.

Howard,
I pull a 7-8000lb camper up into the mountains during camping/hunting seasons. We do a lot of back country camping and I wanted a tire that was quiet on the highway and would do well off road. Also, my truck is a daily driver so they needed to do well on snow & ice. I went with the Michelin LTX AT2's and WOW, I am impressed with these tires. They are by far the best all terrain tire that I have owned. They are not cheap, and don't have the most aggressive tread pattern, but they sure get the job done well - and then some. Great tire - check them out.

i had the kumo road ventures on my f-150 and was very dissapointed in treadlife but very impressed in traction (of course the two are hand in hand) but I also carry alot of wieght in my trucks. got 17000 miles out of them but never once had to worry about getting stuck in a two wheel drive thats kind of nice.
