Good Afternoon everyone. If you have nothing to do Sat there will be a Car/Truck show at the Red Hills Festival here in Louisville. It is free and they have a pretty good varity of vehicles. Finally got the new shoes on "Ole Betsy" and drove her around the yard and down throught the pasture this afternoon. Have some pictures if I can figure out how to get them on the forum. Harley
Here are Harley's pictures he sent me. I'll let him fill you in on the petinent infomation.
It looks good Harley, She's come a long way. Looks like she resides in the house carport instead of the shop
Thanks Barry. Still like a little work on the inside walls of the bed and the rear fenders before doing the paint job. Plan on replacing all anti-rattle parts in the doors but think it best o wait until after she is painted. Open for suggestions. Harley
That great 'FLAT HEAD" V8. Hopefully, the original with 3 speed on the column. Only thing I am upgrading is the voltage to 12 volts and electric wipers. Pray you all have a great Memorial Day and while have fun remember those who have or are serving in the Military. Especially those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for us to enjoy our freedom.
Harley
Good deal Harley, nothing wrong with a flathead & modernizing it will see it just live even longer.
We had a good memorial weekend. Stayed home save for supper last night.
My best "vet" story actually came week before last. The last surviving member of my Dad's B-17 crew was traveling back to GA & stopped here for gas & lunch. Looked up my family name in the phone book. Was shocked to find a "IV"th. Seems he knew about my sister but not me. Had a great visit & I heard some stories I never knew of.
He left us copies of a little book he wrote based on their time in England & his life afterward:
