need help with mt's
need help with mt's
I trying to find a good m/t. I'm looking at the mud countrys, but open to other tires. I want something that will last atleast 40k. Let me know what u have and how the tread wear is. Thanks
Hey,
We deal with a lot of different tire brands and I've received alot of customer feedback on those brands....what's most important in the M/T you want? Actual ability to grip and tread in sand and mud? Or how many miles you're going to get out of them? Or load rating and how much they can haul? Price?
All of my feedback said the BFG Mud-Terrain KM2's have great tread wear and are made to last, good Mud tires for street use too. Tires with the quietest and smoothest street ride with the look of a Mud, are probably Hankook Dynapro M/T's, BFG KM2's and Toyo M/T's If you're actually in the dirt or mud and don't want an extreme bogger like a Super Swamper, then Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ's have always gotten good reviews and now their Baja Claw TTC is even stronger. Toyo Open Country M/T's generally have the highest load and weight ratings (along with BFG). The best priced you'll find are Nitto Mud Grapplers and off brands like Hercules Trail Diggers and Federal Couragias M/T's. The Cepek Mud Countrys are considered a middle of the pack type tire....not really great in any one area, but not bad either. Priced somewhere right in the middle too. They definitely have lower load ratings and are only an 8 ply tire, so I would be careful putting them on a 3/4 ton truck and especially if you do any towing or hauling. And, the majority of their sidewalls are only offered in White Lettering...some people hate that look.
Let me know if I can help you out with a price on anything....if you already have a good source, then hopefully my feedback helped out!
Thanks,

Thanks,
I started with a 35x12.5x17 toyo mt's, but with my wheels i had to step down to a 285x75x17. They were back ordered like everything else. But when i saw the 35's i had to have the 285's. that toyo is nice looking. i just hope it last as long as im hearing (45-50k)
Just had a guy in our store to get new wheels and tires....he had the toyo m/t's on his F-150 and he's at 53k with them....but I have to say they are absolutely shot to hell! He should have replaced them around 5k ago aches lucky to be alive, the tread on them looks like he's ready for a drag race lol
I have Toyo M/T 315/75R16's on my F150 (35x12.5x16) and I have 47k on them and still have tons of tread left, should get another 20-30k out of them! I have been super happy with them, not real noisy on the road, and super grip in mud, as well as amazing on Ice and Snow! I think it really depends on what you are doing with them, as with any tire. If you are doing a lot of pulling, they are gonna wear out faster. I am probably going to put the same thing on my F-250 diesel here soo because I have been so happy with them on my F-150!
