Maybe. In my opinion it comes down to the store. Some store brands I would trust, others I would not, regardless of what certification was stamped on the bottle. I also flip the bottle over and read the back to see where it was made. We've seen Chinese factories taking shortcuts and poisoning pet food or putting lead in kids jewelry, I don't think I'll trust them for any of the fluids in my truck.
I do have some Carquest synthetic ATF that I've used with good results though.
many of the transmision fluids available now meet all of the different ratings, not just one. The Cenex Atf I put in my toyota is rated for just about any transmision I could think of.
I am with Chris, look where it was made, just pay attention and al wil be good.

As i constantly ask...Is it a USA product?...

You guys might be amazed at the items i put back on the shelf after reading the country of origin on the label.
I kind of look at it like this. I would love to put in the expensive stuff but since I change it about every 25,000 miles because of the snowplowing and trailer pulling I have gone with the cheaper stuff sometimes.
Vavoline Max Life Synthetic user here. A bit more expensive but many good reviews here and piece of mind its good for my truck so I went with it, good stuff at a competitive price versus store brands.
