Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Hello Everyone:Last Tuesday I picked up my daughter from college and we continued on to the family cabin in the Adirondacks.
I hear that was the first decent week for weather this Spring.
Started raining there Friday night and we packed up on Saturday.
Brought home my brother's dead quad.
Using the B-pillars for a deadman.

7/8" shackle anchoring the 1/2-ton Dayton (5HH89) rope puller; both doors are
open, the 8' ramp across the seats is bearing against the B-pillars.

The arched aluminum ramp flattens out under the strain. I had to lift the quad
so that it could spring forward, 1st. front & rears over the toe of the ramp
(chock effect) and 2nd. the rear tires were dragging along the ramp.

My van dragged the quad away from the camp and then backed up till the ramps
could rest on the bed. 75' of rope attached to the rear frame in the hopes that I
don't winch the quad 'through' the ramps due to the steep ramp angle.

While jacking the ramps my daughter stood with one foot on each 'Ramp-Part'
to keep the ramps in place until I could winch the quad forward again.

Just another picture of the ramps having been jacked up. These jacks are a
combination bottle-jack & jack-stand with a solid plate base versus four legs.
Hi Pete:Job search = zid - nodda - nothing!
Not that many power station jobs around here, and someone has to retire or worse before a position comes open and then its a feeding frenzy.
A local position here at the coal fired plant didn't come my way. But then I don't have coal handling experience and didn't expect that it would, nor do I have bulldozer experience as my dad
was an electrical contractor and not an excavating contractor.
The position up in New Milford went to someone more local I'd suspect, as local candidates would be given preference (within an hour's commute) and I was an hour and a few minutes away.
I lack the at least five-years overall aviation experience with most recent two-years full-time documented experience in any given make & model (include in that the version) of any aircraft.
My aviation certificate is inactive due to not working aircraft for six months in the past 24 months, and so that kicks me out of the running for must every aviation job other than factory work
and I don't know anyone in Sikorsky to get in there. I'd have to accept an apprentice wage again should someone take me in.
Since my career was mostly power house operations and minimal physical maintenance I fall flat when going for any sort of general industry maintenance positions.
My Secret clearance has yet to generate employment interest from those I have applied to for the overseas positions.
I'm on extended Federal unemployment benefits, my ship is sinking.
The only prayer I have is that a someone takes me in for one of those positions that they have to train you specifically for because there are not that many people out there with that specific experience.
Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts Pete.
