'03 Engine Harness Replacement... Remove AC Compressor?
I've gotten everything unplugged, although I can't get the crankshaft sensor plug out from behind the AC compressor. Is it necessary to remove the compressor in order to remove/install the CKP wiring? If so, do I just need to remove the 4 mounting bolts? Thanks in advance!
Go into the tech file and have a look at the info in there may help. Are you replacing due to chafing or pinches? If so what led you to it, codes etc im chasing a vref short and am right at the pull cam n crank sensor plugs. Thx
Found out from Cheezit that the AC compressor does in fact need to be unbolted to remove the sensor plug.

I'm replacing it after the truck suddenly died and would not crank, although all the dash lights and gauges worked. After troubleshooting the entire electrical system I narrowed it down to the main engine harness. I started a thread regarding the problem. Good luck with your issue, as quoted on here before... "electrical problems can be a real bit@#".
The prices on the harness vary widely. They run from $300 to $900 depending on the truck. Why I really don't know. Fortunately I had a cheap one on my model 04 engine. The later model 04 was a couple hundred more.
I got the harness from partsguyed.com (FTE site sponsor) for $280. Ed is great to deal with, great prices and fast shipping. For my build date the harness comes with both the engine and injector harness, newer models they can be purchased separately and are less expensive.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
