I just installed a MTX Thunderform Sub in place of the factory one. It sounds great, but I am getting alot of panel vibration. Before I start soundproffing everything, I was wondering if anyone had a similar problem, and what kind of remedy they discovered. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.........
I installed an enclosed sub in the back of my Expedition about 1 1/2 months ago & I had the same problem with the vibrating panels.
I took it out & put some foam padding around, & then used some paper towels around the side panels to dampen the vibrations.
I just played some music & sat in the back locating where the vibrations where at.
I also found that the plastic edge bit, which originally held the storage space part, which now holds the grille in, vibrated alot. So I went to my local Lowe's & got some foam insulation strips. & peeled of the back & stuck it all around the edge of that & around the edge of the grille. That seemed to solve that vibrating problem.
Hope that helps
