Anybody have a MTX Amplified ThunderForm?

I would like to add some bass to the 02 F250 Crew I've got. Anybody have one of these - MTX Amplified ThunderForm?

Does anybody have any reviews of this they would like to share?

I still have the stock head unit and speakers. Would putting this sub woofer in on the stock stuff be like putting a chrome grill on a rusted out pinto, meaning should I upgrade the stock stuff as well?

Any other recommendations?

Thanks in advance,
Randy

I've heard the MTX subs. They work good at adding bass to a stock system or a small after market one. They fit good & don't take up much space. You just run a set of RCA cables & power to it & your setup.

I upgraded my 01 F350 with a new HU and Infinity Kappa speakers. a JL amp to power the speakers and a JL am to power 2 10 inch subs behind the back seat. It all sounds great. I would not put a sub in and not upgrade your speakers and head unit. Its kinda like trying to clean a turd. You don't have to amp you speakers like i did but at least upgrade them. Also don't put the factory size 5x7 speakers in the front. Change them to 5 1/4 round they will sound much better. Alpine, Infinity, JL are all good brands.

Thanks, would you have any pics? Behind my seat I have a carpet panel that is attached to the wall. Looks like I would have to cut and trip some of this to make a box fit???

Did you use the supplied screw to screw the unit into the cab wall?
