FLASHING OD LIGHT- resolved
FLASHING OD LIGHT- resolved
Took truck in and had new windshield put in.drove across town and found door locks would not work, keyless entry would not work.got in and drove 1/4mile starts to hard shift and od light starts flashing. Luckily right next to tranny shop, pulls codes po344-intermittent cps,po500-vss sensor, tries to check abs-no power, for grins he does buzz test-fine,cct pulls p0196-oil temp circuit? i have no interior lights,no speedo,no odometer display.
checked all fuses in relay box in engine compartment, and in fuse panel under dash.all tested fine.when i push the door lock and unlock on the drivers door panel i hear a little click in the grey box under the dash in about the location relative to the transfer case lever.
Anybody have any ideas,I hate to just start replacing sensors if not needed.it sounds more like a power problem to me. Could this have been caused during the windshield installation? i know the power window and power door harness runs along up there.Where should i begin searching now?????? ps: i did not check the relays in the fuse block under the hood

I got something in my drivers side door that shorts occasionally under the switches that makes the door locks and windows not work.
I think the screw has gotten into the wires.
Might wanna pull that screw on the controls there and pull it up and look?

Do you think that would be affecting my speedo, odometer, interior lights, rabs unit,vss,cps,etc...?
Well, the wrong short could do all sorts of strange *** things.
I had the cigarette lighter shorting out behind the ash tray on my f-150 and it caused all sorts of problems till I finally found it.
Erratic idling, poor performance, bucking. All weird things.
Though. I'm almost certain yours could be far deeper than that. But I cannot think of anything they could screw up just changing the window out.
Action Rick would have the best places to check, but I have some similar issues from the window/lock controls.
My only other thought is it could be ignition wiring.

I'm a bonehead,bonehead,bonehead.Did i mention i'm a bonehead?
Troubleshooting when you are stressed is probably not a good thing.when testing my fuses i used a continuity tester, not thinking about
about having a light bulb in the circuit(my interior door marker light would be on when the door was open during testing giving me a false reading)
after coming to that realization, pulled the fuse,it was blown, replaced, everything works fine now.Good thing i'm an electrician by trade LMAO. Anyway, william thanks for trying to help.
PS: it was that dangling marker light that shorted out against the door and blew my fuse while i had the door panel off.who would of thought 1 blown fuse would cause so much trouble?
