Having problems with high pressure fuel line won't snap in spring and won't stay connected. What could I be doing wrong? I have tried lubing it up and connecting it and it still won't stay. Any one else have this problem? If so what did you do to fix it?
Which connection? Fuel rail? Filter? Tank?
The 'garter spring' in some connections is supposed to push out into the surrounding groove and allow the 'high spot' on the other fitting to slide past. If the outer groove is filled with muck-muck, the spring can't move out far enough. If the high spot is not the correct diameter, the fitting can slide out past the spring.
Given I don't know what fittings you are talking about, I cannot say anything more other than if this is a replacement part, compare the old and new. If the fitting is dirty, make sure to clean it before trying to re-assemble it.
