I agree 100%. My truck will be a while if ever on that shiney deal. I just like driving it just as it is. Interesting enough most people like it just as it is.
As for your panel I think what you plan to do is spot on the money except maybe the bullet holes.... Do you really need to fix them? Perhaps seal them from the inside??? Just asking.

Actually that's the plan! I'm leaving the bullet holes and sealing them from the inside so the A/C dont leak out I LOVE my A/C!! I'm using a '94 Lincoln Mk VIII for my donor for the most of the truck. Its goin to be pretty radical, but for now I've got to get Pegysu back together. I'm pretty close right now. I'm puttin in a new dash cluster thats goin to be kind of cool. Its goin to mimic a '56 Ford car. bobbytnm is goin to help me post pics when I get it done
Now that sounds outstanding. I can't wait till the pictures start of the panel. I know Pegysu is first but I bet you can't stop thinking about what you are going to do with panel.

Yep, problem is like many on here I've got so many projects goin at once and barley enough energy and money to do 1.But I've been thinkin and planing on the panel for some time. I've just got to have more room. The pickup is so crowded on trips to PF with the family. By the time you get my wife and daughter and their "accessories" in there there's barely any room for anything else. The only thing is I've never driven a panel truck and they say they are like driving with a bucket over your head. I'm lookin at what kind of mirrors that can be made to look cool on one? So far I've come up with putting up camera's on the back and side of it and a monitor on the dash.
Agreed as I too have way too much going on... I had a panel truck, 60 "other" brand and once you got use to the size it isn't too bad. The extra room inside is going to be worth all the effort. You learn to drive your mirrors. I don't know if the fact that I drove a big truck made a difference or not but you learn to trust your mirrors and your judgement. The backup camera is a cool idea.
Interesting you should mention mirrors as I am thinking of starting a thread on mirrors. The one I have is "ok" but I want some for both sides that fit better.
