Replacing Center Console VCR

Hi all,

I recently bought a 2002 X and was told it had a DVD player. I assumed this meant the factory, roof-mounted unit, but when the truck was delivered, it was actually an aftermarket center console unit. Upon closer inspection, it was not a DVD at all, but a VCR.

I am correct in that there was no factory VCR option on a Excursion? This center console VCR is aftermarket, yes?

Does anyone know if there is a direct replacement DVD unit that will fit into this center console? Should I just install an aftermarket in-dash DVD unit and wire it up to run everywhere?

I'm not sure if it was factory, but my '02 had the Audiovox VCR and overhead Audiovox TV.

I got rid of the VCR and hooked up a portable DVD player to it for the time being. I plan on getting a new head unit with DVD and GPS in the future.
