Talking $30 CARPET KIT

so i got tired of looking at my oil soaked nasty "carpet" from the previous owner. went to lowes and got 6' of outdoor black with gray specs . lowes makes you buy the 12' width so $30 other wise it would like $15for 6'x6'
anyways here's the before and after .
before

after

now just need to find a new seat

Back in the day when my '71 4x4 was my daily driver I had black astro turf in it. It was very easy to clean after a day in the mud.

Very nice job, Mike! It looks so much better. I'm surprised you were able to get it to lie flat. Did you use a heat gun to "mold" it to the floor?

New seat cover are available, or you can have it redone by an auto upholstery shop. I just cover mine with a $50 horse blanket.

Cheers,

John

That looks really good. I've got what appears to be standard Ford, industrial grade vinyl - complete with what look like cigarette burns in several places - and have been thinking about a budget carpet. Have to check that out next time I'm in to the Lowes.

Here's a tip: if you are putting carpet all the way back under the seat, put the seat bolts in underneath the carpet. After the carptet is in, take your box cutter and cut an X on the bolts, viola the holes are found.
