Ford Stowage
I still have the 300 I took out of the truck to sell also. It needs hardened valve seats and seals and gaskets. I rebuilt one that I got from CL, and just swapped it for the one I was driving the truck with.
Got a package deal on all this about a month and a half ago on CL. I was actually gonna make a thread on it but never got around to it. Very minor rust on both tailgates and the gas tank was spotless on the inside.
A guy on my local CL advertised a 460 block and heads for $75.00. He also made sure to mention it is not a complete engine. I just wanted the heads to replace the crappy D2's I have on my 429 and figured I was still doing good at $75.00. I get there and he asks if I want the crank, rods, pistons, pushrods, rocker arms, valve covers and intake too. Well, I sure would.
I also picked up a complete 76 F250 frame with a 460 in it for $100.00. The motor was not sealed and had been sitting in a field for who knows how long. I grabbed all the parts I needed from it to do my 429 swap and sent the motor and frame to the scrapper and got most of my money back.
