You can sand it down and repaint it. I did that to my 89 F250, had dash totaly out and fixed a seam leak and used some bed liner paint. So far it's holding up. Can't hurt to prevent any future problems.
Me bad, Ctubtis, I was thinking about Bugs Bunny running around with the bra on his ears on one of the "sensored" shows.
Man, ya'll were totally right about the dash being easy to take out with the correct tools and process. I picked up a universal socket joint and was able to get at the bolts near the windshield easily. Dropping the steering column a bit helped a bunch too.
...Considering that there is only about 1" of space between that and the metal behind it, I couldn't even get my stubby screw driver to grab it. Friends...that's my definition of evil right there...to get to it properly I would have had to take all of this apart:
As an aside/FYI, here is the module that turns the Emissions light on.
Sweet, I was going to ask what that was for! Thanks!
Trash can filler, in my opinion. Too difficult to access when it's time to turn that light back off......
The light just comes on after a certain amount of time. Has nothing to do with whether there is any issues with the system or not.

I'm not sure on the EFI version, but I kinda doubt that it is even tied into the computer. This same item was found on some non-computer controlled trucks.
