2005 F250 6.0L,
So I have a neighbor with the same truck as mine and he did the cat delete and claims he is getting 3-4 mpg more on the highway. I seriously doubt he is getting that much better but I would be happy with a 1-2 mpg improvement as the cat delete is a pretty cheap job. Also wouldnt mind the truck sounding a little tougher. Not looking for loud and rattle or popping crap just a little deeper sound. But my main question is will I see any improvement on mileage? Any negatives to doing it? Other then inspections, which is a non issue here.
Thanks,
Richard
I straight piped mine, from the turbo back, a little over a year ago. It has a whistle, which my wife hates, while idling and a rumble when I get on the skinny pedal. No improvement in mpg but I almost never go through a whole tank of diesel without pulling a trailer so I am probably not the best example.
I do love having a load of round bales on a 30' gooseneck and passing someone. It rumbles loud enough at that point to get some attention.
yea. you can get the silverline aluminized turbo back exhaust system from xdp.com for 299 with free shipping. personally there is no reason for the stainless steel IMO because its gonna get dirty anyways and its the same thing just more expensive
