hey guys... i ordered and SCT SF3 for my 05 250 PSD.... ordered it from MKM... it comes with 3 free custom tunes... i was wondering if anyone has any input on if their tunes are any good.... thanks for any input!
by all means let us know. I just ordered the Livewire from Amazon. I guess it comes with a canned towing tune, a street tune and a race tune. I really want to get an economy tune for it before I install it.
i know alot of people use matt and erics tunes.... and i probly will in the future too... just curious as to how the custom tunes from MKM will be.... thanks for the input though!

I bought it with the EGT probe
its coming friday so ill be sure to post and let u all know after i run it a little bit!!
I bought my SCT from mkm customs as a package which included the erg delete. I decided to go with the economy tune, towing tune and performance tune. I did not go with the extreme tunes or anything as I do not have a ton of work done to the engine. ONce you get your tuner you have to use it to obtain your strategy code. After you find it and send it to mkm you can choose which 3 tunes you would like. finally they email them to you specifically built based on your strategy code. I ran the economy tune for a while...liked it. I couldnt resist and loaded the performace/street tune. I love it. Once the tranny learns your driving habits after a couple days of driving it really works nice. I have not had any concerns. One thing I noticed was that if you run the truck a little hard before warming it up properly the trans kind of jumps out of gear wondering wtf. THat happened to me a couple times. I like the way the tranny shifts as well....solid. Other than that I have no bad things to say. I have never run any other tuners in my truck so i dont have much to compare to. I have left mine on performace for a few months now and just adjusted my driving habits so that I am not blowing things up or overheating. I am at training right now but I will get back with you later if you have any further questions.
thats not good if the tranny is jumping outta gear before being warmed up. i dont like runnin my truck hard before its warm but when i do mine wont do that and its not suppose to do that. there is something wrong with either the tranny or the tunes. i have never heard of that problem with anyone runnin elitle, matts, or innovative tunes. you might wanna check that out
Yeah no doubt. I had this happen maybe twice. Dead middle of winter temps in single digits after only warming up for 3 or 4 minutes after being off for my 12 hour shift. I don't ever run it hard before my temps are up, but in some situations you are forced to get on it if you know what I mean. Prior to having the performance tune this had never happened to me before. Never had any transmission issues and still don't to this day.
I have heard from a couple other people and read somewhere before that this can happen on some applications due to too much fuel being introduced/improper warm-up or running temperature. I wouldn't argue either way if this is true or not because I have no facts to back it up.
Bottom line. I don't regret buying the Sct or running the mkm tunes.
I have the street, economy, and towing. The street seems to be allright with around 14 mpgs staying on it pretty hard but by no means is it nowhere near as strong as some other tunes that i have run street, the economy sucks i have got two different ones from them and i am getting only between 15 and 16 mpg babying it but mike at mkm says i should be getting more than that, and i haven't had a chance to try the towing yet.
