All you have to do to test the motor is apply 12 volts to it's 2-wire connector. One way and the window goes up, reverse the leads and the motor goes down.
I wish it was a 2 wire system, but its not that easy with 8 wires in one plug, thanks for your reply anyway.
Posting this for anyone who will have this problem in the future. The problem was the dark green wire that powers the drivers side window motor. There was corrosion in the splice (front passenger side wiring harness around the fuse box). Repaired it and that fixed the problem.
