TAILGATE INSERT

Anybody know where to get a good aluminum insert for my 94 EB?
punk neighbor kids had a party the other night & mine got punched so now i have a nice row of knuckle marks in mine. I saw one @ LMC but the insert is red instead of black, can that insert be swapped?

Personally, I think it now needs a forehead impression. Remove all twelve nuts from the studs that hold it to the tailgate and bend it over the neighbor kids head until he coughs up the $$ to replace it or he's as senseless as the act for punching it was in the first place! Kids like that in my neighborhood find holes in their bicycle tires and their basketball hoop reshaped so nothing but BB's will fit through it.

But enough of how I feel about human larvae who's parent's can't or won't do their job...

The age of the insert dictates whether the insert is red or black. When the restyle came in 92 the insert went black. Prior to that, they are red. The Blue Oval replaced the "F O R D" letters for the Silver Anniversary models and stayed that way.

F2TZ-98425A34-A .. Tailgate Finish Panel Assy / 1992/96 Bronco / Obsolete

The only parts available by themselves were the Blue Oval emblem and the clips used to install the panel to the tailgate.

Last MSRP: $869.03 !! // Dealer net cost: $521.42.

No FoMoCo Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

btw: Check local laws before suing (small claims court) to get the funds to replace it. Here in CA, if the punk is under 18, you have to sue the parent(s) or guardian(s).

And, if you can get your case on one a those TV shows like Judge Judy, if the judgement is rendered in your favor, you will get the funds, cuz the show pays, not the defendent(s).

If your case is tried in small claims court and you win, all you will get is a judgement against the defendent...that may never be paid.

i'm pretty sure i know the kids name cause me & my neighbors all heard it being screamed in the street at 3am, the problem is I cant prove he's the one that did it, i've already confronted the neighbor so i'm waiting to see what he is going to do, the problem is he's probably in his mid 20's so he is the supervision at these parties, no real adults

You'll have to find someone who witnessed the punk do it ... and will be willing to 'rat him out' in a courtroom. Otherwise, you'll be up the proverbial creek without a paddle.

These things tend to happen whether your vehicle is parked at the curb or in your driveway.

I've been thru similar jazz before, so I won't buy anything that won't fit into the garage. The new elephantine behemouth I just bought fits into the garage with barely 4" to spare.

Yeah I would be furious, I have a Brand-new Mustang and my Bronco in front of my house. My car actually got keyed by a punk kid. Caught them, had them arrested. But since they are underage it falls on the parent, who of course is a dead-beat without a job. So i had to claim it on my insurance. As this guy will never have the money to pay me back.

Hopefully your neighbor/kids will pitch in to replace your panel, but I wouldn't hold your breath sadly.

If the punks are underage, and the parents are allowing liquor/beer to be consumed, when the polizei show up, the parents will soon be headed to the hoose-gow, and the punks to juvy hall.

11 years ago I left a computer career, and the city, behind. I bought a cheap house on 4 acres way out in the country that I only owe 19 more months on, and I can shoot my guns any time I want to.

I have NO neighbors kids to worry about, and even if I did, my pack of dogs would take care of them in short order.

That is living. That is security. That means no punk kid will ever punch out my truck. If one ever tried, I would shoot the pile of meat my dogs left in the front yard, and then bury the mess out back under a tree.

End of story.

So, getting back to the original question, I too am looking at buying the LMC panel and putting my black insert into it. Does anyone know if this will work?

Thanks,

Kevin

Don't see why it wouldn't. If memory serves the insert is either glued or has plastic studs that are melted over to hold it to the panel. Removing it from the old panel intact will most likely be the tough part.

back panel for 86 ford bronco

Not exactly the same, but it will fit and a hell of a lot cheaper I bet.

Try Jeffs Bronco Graveyard.
Saw a 87-91 listing.

My cousin had a dent in his panel massaged out,
Looked good to me, find a good metal worker.

Thanks for the responses, I have a very nice 95 EB so anything other than correct original is not for me. It's one dent that needs to be fixed, it's really not too bad but I know it's there and it stands out everytime I look at it. I'm going to go with the LMC and change the panel. It may not be for a couple months, but I'll post the results.

The metal worker might be a good option as well.

Thanks!!
