Can anyone provide some insight as to the space behind the seat with the newer style seats compared to an original bench? I have a speaker box that currently takes up every single inch back there, so I couldn't afford to lose anymore... but love the idea of a more comfortable seat with a center arm rest.
here are two pics of the different seats I have put in my truck. The tan one is from a 2000 ish f150,the gray buckets are from a 06 ranger. To mount them I made a frame of 1" box steel (with alot of cross bracing) and mounted my stock 77 sliders to it.I then made tabs from 1 1/2" angle to bolt the seats to using the factory holes. The gray seats were alot tougher to mount to the frame than the tan split bench.Since the pic was taked I have all the trim on the gray seats to cover all the adjustment stuff.
