Other forum members have posted how they upgraded their seats to those of newer vehicles. I was getting ready to reupholster my seat, then ChaseTruck mentioned putting in that from a later year.
Could you post what year you used, and the mods needed to install. Thx.
This is funny ... Just quoting myself here from your taurus fan thread 1st page

I put in seats from a 2005 Yukon. They're a middle seat so it took some major mods. It had no a bottom slide track so I incorporated mine into them while also chopping them down 2 inches lower. Turned out real nice though.
73 ford guy, i hope you plan on moving the mounting point for your straps way up at some point before you need it. you ever wreck that with those harnesses that way and you'll be having some serious back pain.
I bought a seat upholstery kit from NPD for my truck. You pull the old upholstery off so then you are down to the seat foam. The new upholstery goes on exactly as the old stuff came off. Its $200 but could not be happier with it. It is exactly what I was looking for. And they seem to have 10% off sales a lot, just sign up for their emails on their site and they will email you when they have a sale. That's what I did so I got it for $180. They have it in lots of colors and the XLT stuff as well and with cloth inserts. I like plain black, nice and simple.
Thanks! And like I said I could not be happier with it. Its the exact look I wanted. Fit and quality was great as well.
Great looking seat Blown... Gotta love that shiny black look. It's actually a really nice look with your truck.
I however am a fan of what 78 PEB did with his seats. He got them out of a Lincoln Zephyr. I can't remember the year, but if you do a search on his seats... they're awesome.
It looks great, and he says they're very comfortable.
I can't wait to find myself a 60/40 seat at the junk yard. I'm not sure what I want yet, but since I've seen this topic, I've looked at the 98 to 01 seats and they look the best IMPO.
God I can't wait to work on my truck again... I've had the blues since I left it for school haha.
