Well, I bought it!

Well guys, I went through with the trade. Traded my 07 GMC Canyon for this truck. It's got 131,000 miles on it. It's extremely nice the only wear on it is a little wear on the drivers side seat. It has tons of Lund stuff on it. I'm debating on taking the rear bed visor thing off. Does it help my mpgs any? I'm glad to be back in the diesel world

Looks like a nice truck to me. Mine had the front visor and the rear deal on it too when I bought it in 2000. I can't believe any mileage gains are there because of them. Front one may hurt it catching wind, don't know for sure. I had to cut my rear one off some to allow for my big trailer turning, it would hit. I like the looks of them though

Congrats on the purchase, hope it treats you well

The front visors on the grill, tend to shake and wear through the paint on top of the fenders. Thats the only reason i took mine off. And the
Razor back looks pretty cool, but is it a blind spot?

Nice rig! I'd definitely loose the thing on the bed. The front thing too. Depending how they were installed.

It's not that easy Pete, they are screwed to the body. Took my back one off to trim it and it would need some serious body work where the screws went in. Hence the trimming and not leaving mine off..

Yeah Darin. Thats what I thought. "Depending how the were installed". I guess one could get used to them.

Looks great.
Keep an eye on the visor.
They leak in any vehicle.

Thanks for the comments! I've put ~200 miles on her since yesterday and it just purrs right along. Runs amazing. As far as the bed visor thing, its screwed in at like 6 different points. Little bitty screws though, I'm thinkin a dab of white silicone in each one and you'll never be able to tell. I'm still iffy about it though, In some ways i dont like it and in some ways it kind of compliments the whole "Lund mega package" ordeal. lol. Not sure what you mean about the front visor, it isn't touching the fenders at all?? Maybe I'm not understanding what you mean..? Also, any of you guys heard of "Southern hauler" or a guy named Paul Reecer? On the side of the bed right in front of the dually flare there is a thing that says Southern Hauler and has Paul Reecer and his phone number. Just curious about the history on that.

The Window Visor on the front.

I dont remember anyone saying anything about fenders, I think they were talking about the bed flare.

But the Window visors like to get loose and leak.

He mentioned the fender^^

And yeah, I'm wary of the window visors anyway. I never use them to leave my windows cracked really though, mainly like the look! haha

Yeah, I figured thats what you meant..but mine doesnt come anywhere near to touching the fenders at all? Hmm..maybe its some weird brand or something..lol...and I definitely think it will be a towing machine. Turns out, I know the previous owner. He had it from 2002/30k miles and did meticulous service. Older man, only used it for road trips with his big ol camper.

At least some idiot didn't put those window guards over the windows.

I cannot stand it when people do that on these trucks. Its completely useless.

Our windows are in-set, they do not need it.
You can leave your window damn near half down and have it rain outside and the seat will be dry. Trust me on this one, I've done it a half dozen times.
Now if it's a stupid hard rain, and your seat gets wet, dont blame me.

Arg, sorry. Ranting here about stupid accessories people put on.

We have a brow and an inset window.
The trucks those are made for have neither.

Nothing wrong with the window guards. Mine had them on it when I got it and I like them. They knock the sun power down a lot driving west for me in the summertime. Very helpful. And they look just fine.

You just rant about anything you don't like.
