I put these on my 95 F-150 when they first came out. I have been very happy with them. They will stiffen up the ride a little bit, but handle loads very well.
I have the Rancho RSX Reflex shocks which are the same thing as the Monroes, and I have no complaints with them at all. I would definitely recommend them.
the rancho rs5000's are just as good and are cheaper. just put a set of monroe's on my mom's suburban and they ride like the ranchos do on the road but the when offroad they dont stiffen up as much as the ranchos did.

Had a set of rancho 5000's on a 92 jeep cherokee and while they might be good off road shocks, they were way to harsh on road. they actually ruined several of the shock rubbers from the pounding. that's my 2 cents worth. have not tried the "reflex" shock
really? that is strange. ive never heard of the ranchos doing that. you know there is a warranty on the shocks too so you could have gotten them all replaced or your money back. also, a f150 weighs more than a jeep cherokee and has a different suspension setup. a rancho is a truck shock.
I put a set of Rancho RS5000's on my '85 Bronco. I know, I know, it's still not a "truck", but it's closer than a Cherokee. I echo the OLDSMAN, they were very harsh on the road. Made the Bronco ride like a tank compared to the stock shocks. Off-road however, they definately improved handling. Not nearly as much bouncing and rocking around.
I have KYB gas-adjust on our 96 and the highway ride improved +++ over the OEM shocks. Oversand ride is better too. The expansion strips caused loose fillings and premature bone loss with the oem's; even when it was new.
