bilstein rust dilema
Recently added billstein remote reservoir unpainted shocks and there starting to rust. They are bare metal color. Is there any way to get the pitting off and protect them. ( they were 1200.oo ) I tried never dull and no good.

I like MARS non-marring rubber erasers for removing light rust. Most any kind of eraser will do the trick, and if you get the refills for mechanical pencils you can chuck them into a dremel arbor and add some power to the effort.
Once you get them clean, some decent surface prep and a can of clear coat would probably go a long way.
